Your “first aid kit” at home

Your “first aid kit” at home

A first aid kit is a must for all homes. It should be kept somewhere out of the reach of young children.
The Poison Center's telephone number (210 7793777), the Paediatrician’s number, and the Emergency Aid Centre Number 166 should be written and clearly displayed in an obvious place.

The materials that should be in the first aid kit are:

  • Cotton wool
  • Sterile gauzes
  • Bandages
  • Adhesive bandages
  • Pure ethanol
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Thermometer
  • Single use syringes.
  • Safety pins
  • Scissors
  • Anti-fever syrups (recommended by your doctor)
  • Cortisone cream (recommended by your doctor)
  • Ipecac syrup (to induce vomiting in case of poisoning)
