ΥIOTIS S.A. – 96 YEARS OF INNOVATION WITH GREEK DNA

In 1930, when Ioannis and Maria Υiotis founded the company, their original goal was to offer Greek children an innovative, nourishing food made with pure ingredients from the crops of Greek land. The result was the first infant and children’s cereals in Greece: the well-known JOTIS Anthos Oryzis and JOTIS Anthos Aravositou baby cereals, which contributed to reducing child mortality that, at that time, had reached epidemic proportions. Since then, the concept of innovation has been closely intertwined with the history of the YIOTIS company.

With the monitoring and identification of new trends as a core pillar of its development, YIOTIS constantly opens new paths in nutrition: from JOTIS Farina, the first self-rising flour, JOTIS Fruit Jelly, the first instant dessert, and JOTIS Cakes, the first complete dessert mixes, to the pioneering Sweet & Balance line, the first complete series of desserts with a low glycemic index. Its history is marked by significant innovations.

Throughout its journey, the company has evolved with a strong focus on people, research, and innovation. YIOTIS has one of the most advanced Research and Development departments in the Greek food industry.

Today, with the third generation of the Yiotis family at the helm, the company is a leader in the nutrition sector, achieving continuous milestones and distinctions. It has a comprehensive strategic portfolio with more than 300 core codes of pioneering products, synonymous with quality, safety, excellent taste, and ease of use, meeting the needs of the modern Greek family.

At the same time, JOTIS products have also conquered international markets. The company successfully exports its innovative products to all five continents, in more than 20 countries, and continues to grow dynamically.

Furthermore, YIOTIS consistently supports the Greek economy by implementing its investment plan. It invests in development and innovation through the regular modernization of its equipment, the expansion of production lines, and the creation of new facilities. In 2012, the company acquired a new warehouse in Mandra, Attica. In 2015, it completed the construction of its new factory in Agrinio. In 2017, it founded the Hellenic Research & Innovation Center, aiming to address the need for a modern food safety institute, not only for the needs of YIOTIS but for the entire food industry in Greece.

Throughout this journey, the company has kept its focus on people and social contribution through corporate social responsibility initiatives and the food donation program “We Nourish with Love.” In November 2018, wishing to contribute to addressing a major national issue—declining birth rates in Greece—it announced the launch of the Corporate Social Responsibility Program “A Hope is Born!”, which aims to reduce the country’s declining birth rate. Through this program, YIOTIS supports women who wish to become mothers in 90 remote villages of mainland Greece.

With these values, YIOTIS S.A. continues its long-standing course, ready to respond to new challenges and to remain, as always, close to its consumers. For 96 years, JOTIS products have been present in every family, sharing everyday moments and making life easier and more delicious.
