  • 1930 - Ioannis and Maria Yiotis founded YIOTIS S.A. in Athens

    Ioannis and Maria Yiotis founded YIOTIS S.A. in Athens.

    Their aim was to offer to children nutritious food made with pure ingredients from the standard crops grown in Greece, such as corn and rice.

    The result was the highly innovative, for that time, products: JOTIS Rice Cereal and JOTIS Maize Cereal Creams, which were the first infant and baby creams marketed in Greece.

    JOTIS ANTHOS ORIZIS


    This baby food was first produced in 1930, and was the first solid baby food available in Greece. It had a very significant social effect in Greece as it contributed greatly to a reduction in child mortality which was at a very high level due to an epidemic of dysentery.

     

    JOTIS ANTHOS ARAVOSITOU

    First made in 1930, this was the first baby food for children to be produced industrially in Greece. It soon became everyone’s favorite food – for both young and old.

    JOTIS Anthos Orizis and JOTIS Anthos Aravositou Creams were the first branded products that the Company exported to America.

  • 1950 - JOTIS launches the first desserts in Greece. Corn Flour, Custard Powder and Baking Powder

    JOTIS FRUIT JELLY

    In the early 50's YIOTIS S.A. launches JOTIS Fruit Jelly in the Greek market. This was a new nutritional idea, and was a pleasant surprise for consumers as it was the first dessert that combined sweet taste and fruit!

    In the 1980s, YIOTIS Company expands its range to include Sugar free Fruit Jelly which was suitable for those who wanted to avoid sugar.

    CORN FLOUR, CUSTARD POWDER AND BAKING POWDER

    YIOTIS Company
    developed another innovative product, Corn Flour. Also, Jotis Custard Powder and Baking Powder were produced and were available in metal packaging and in sachets.
