Ioannis and Maria Yiotis founded YIOTIS S.A. in Athens.
Their aim was to offer to children nutritious food made with pure ingredients from the standard crops grown in Greece, such as corn and rice.
The result was the highly innovative, for that time, products: JOTIS Rice Cereal and JOTIS Maize Cereal Creams, which were the first infant and baby creams marketed in Greece.
The first baby food in Greece
JOTIS ANTHOS ORIZIS
This baby food was first produced in 1930, and was the first solid baby food available in Greece. It had a very significant social effect in Greece as it contributed greatly to a reduction in child mortality which was at a very high level due to an epidemic of dysentery.
JOTIS ANTHOS ARAVOSITOU
First made in 1930, this was the first baby food for children to be produced industrially in Greece. It soon became everyone’s favorite food – for both young and old.
JOTIS Anthos Orizis and JOTIS Anthos Aravositou Creams were the first branded products that the Company exported to America.
JOTIS FRUIT JELLY
In the early 50's YIOTIS S.A. launches JOTIS Fruit Jelly in the Greek market. This was a new nutritional idea, and was a pleasant surprise for consumers as it was the first dessert that combined sweet taste and fruit!
In the 1980s, YIOTIS Company expands its range to include Sugar free Fruit Jelly which was suitable for those who wanted to avoid sugar.
CORN FLOUR, CUSTARD POWDER AND BAKING POWDER
YIOTIS Company developed another innovative product, Corn Flour. Also, Jotis Custard Powder and Baking Powder were produced and were available in metal packaging and in sachets.
JOTIS CREME CARAMEL
This dessert is launched in the early 60's and is another innovation of YIOTIS S.A. as it is an instant preparation cream, with no need for baking, accompanied by ready-to-eat caramel syrup.
JOTIS Cream Caramel opens new tasting paths in the JOTIS Desserts category.
YIOTIS S.A.launched another innovation, the first self-raising flour, under the brand name JOTIS Farina. The brand name Farina became very familiar to consumers, and even today it is used as the generic name of the category of self-raising flours.
YIOTIS S.A. produces for the first time in Greece pre-cooked baby foods in the form of Cornflakes Anthos Aravositou, Cereals and Rice Cereal Baby Creams. Once again, YIOTIS S.A. offers to consumers an innovative product which will help the baby's well balanced nutrition.
YIOTIS S.A. adds Farine Lactée, Cremita and Cereal Baby Creams to its baby foods portfolio.
YIOTIS Company developed yet another an innovative product, GARNI, for light chantilly cream that stands in peaks all on its own. It is made of pure, high quality ingredients, with vegetable fats only.
YIOTIS S.A. markets the instant chocolate drink Caotonic, which gives a delicious taste to milk and has 11 vitamins, as well as 3 minerals and iron. For both young and old.
JOTIS Cakes
YIOTIS Company launches at the same time in the Greek and German markets, JOTIS Cakes. A pioneering idea as the packaging of JOTIS Cakes contains all the ingredients needed to make and decorate a homemade cake, without any baking or boiling, in just 15 minutes.
JOTIS Cakes are very successful commercially and are adopted by consumers with enthusiasm. In 1994, are awards with the international Sial’ Or award for:

JOTIS BECHAMEL
YIOTIS S.A. imports into the Greek market, an innovative mix for Béchamel. A product that will satisfy the consumer's needs, for immediate implementation and application in every recipe, without boiling, in 1', with a certain success!
ALL PURPOSE FLOUR
YIOTIS Company expanded its range of flours by adding All Purpose Flour.
DUMPLING MIX AND CREPE MIX
YIOTIS Company developed what became two of its most favourite products. The JOTIS Dumpling Mix and Crepe Mix for sweet and savoury uses.
YIOTIS S.A. launches JOTIS Fruit Cream, a baby food made with wheat flour, milk and 5 natural fruits, which give infants the high amounts of energy, protein, vitamins and minerals that are essential for proper growth.
The first chocolate on a stick.
YIOTIS Company launches in the Greek market the first chocolate on a stick. The chocolate has the shape of the Caotonic hero. It is rich in vitamins and has a high nutritional value.
YIOTIS Company launched the first mixes for ice cream that did not require an ice-cream maker and came with syrup inside the box too! It later went on to develop new mixes for ice cream and a separate series of JOTIS Syrups.
YOTIS S.A. invests in the chocolate market by enriching its portfolio with a range of chocolates.
It introduces three new codes of CAOTONIC chocolates for children, rich in vitamins and high nutritional value:
CAOTONIC 3D chocolate, a chocolate bar with biscuit and cream
CAOTONIC STICKS Viennese waffle with cream filling and chocolate coating
CAOTONIC FRIENDS chocolate bar.
For adults:
BLUES, luxury chocolates with praline and almond filling
DIFFERS, chocolates with Viennese waffle, praline, and milk chocolate and almond fillings.
YIOTIS Company launched the first Couverture Chocolates in packets. It then went to launch Couvertures in the form of drops, flakes, and shavings for ease of use and the perfect garnish for your creations.
JOTIS CEREAL & BISCUIT BABY CREAMS
JOTIS Cereal Cream is made from 6 cereals and milk, while JOTIS Biscuit Cream is made from cereals, milk and biscuits. Ingredients which provide the body with all the necessary energy and strength it needs.
BABY MILK
An integrated system for baby’s nutrition.
The SANILAC range of Baby Milk from YIOTIS S.A. carries 70 years of experience and scientific development, as well as of ongoing laboratory research. SANILAC Baby Milk is a series of premium quality products that are as close as possible to breast milk.
They cover all the infant’s needs at all stages of its development, providing the body with all the necessary vitamins, minerals and trace elements. The series includes first, second and third stage infant milk, as well as special milk (for infants suffering from colic, for lactose intolerant infants and for infants who are prone to regurgitation).
Anthos Aravositou Cream is added to the JOTIS family of crèmes.
REFRIGERATED PRODUCTS
YIOTIS S.A. launches everyone’s favorite tastes in ready-to-eat refrigerated products: Anthos Aravositou available in 3 flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate and Cream Chocolate, Crème Caramel, Profiteroles and Tiramisu.
CREME PATISSERIE
A sweet idea came to complete the JOTIS confectionery line, JOTIS Confectionery Crème Patisserie. For a quick and delicious Crème Patisserie with Vanilla and Chocolate flavor, ready only in a minute!
MASHED POTATOES
JOTIS Mashed Potatoes was launched. Another extraordinarily successful product with a natural potato flavor was added to JOTIS' portfolio.
CHOCOLATE DRINK
YIOTIS Company launched the JOTIS Chocolate Drink which offers a unique, rich chocolate taste and wonderful aroma.
COUVERTURE SLAB
YIOTIS Company expanded the Couverture range offering a Couverture Slab with 54% Cocoa. JOTIS Couverture Chocolates are made from high quality chocolate that melts perfectly and has a velvety texture and a rich aroma. They will give you great-tasting results, even with your most difficult chocolate dishes
HEMO
YIOTIS S.A. wanting to enlarge its portfolio by introducing another product of high nutritional value, strong brand awareness and loyalty, begins to produce HEMO, a drink rich in vitamins, minerals and malt.
YIOTIS S.A., the specialist in cream desserts, launches two traditional desserts which are ready-to-eat refrigerated, which are a new and enjoyable idea for everyday dessert or light meals:
Traditional Greek Cream Dessert: A pure and light cream, rich in aroma and flavour
Traditional Rice Pudding: Made following the traditional recipe, this rice pudding has all the flavour, texture, aroma and values that everyone loves.
YIOTIS S.A. launches the beloved JOTIS Fruit Jelly, ready- to-eat, refrigerated.
Refreshing Fruit Jelly with delightful pieces of fruit is available in the fridge, in three great flavours: strawberry, cherry and pineapple.
YIOTIS Company presents its Cheesecake in strawberry and cherry flavors refrigerated - transferring the delicious flavours and recipes from the “shelf” to the “fridge”. At the same time, it launches a new rich in taste and aromatic dessert, the Double Dessert, with a double chocolate flavor.
YIOTIS Company never complacent, but is always looking for new ideas to fit with the current dietary needs. So, 2009 was a milestone year for the Company and brought some very major strategic developments:
SWEET & BALANCE LAUNCH
In 2009, the ground-breaking range of the new-generation SWEET & BALANCE was launched.
SWEET & BALANCE are fully balanced and healthy foods as they do not contain any sugar but instead are made with a natural sweetener extracted from the Stevia plant. They are enriched with vegetable fibers, have a low glycemic index and low fat and calorie content.
FYTRO
In the same year, JOTIS, with the aim of developing and expanding its nutritional proposals to consumers, with products of high nutritional value, buys the brand FYTRO. It is a complete range of high nutritional products that meet the needs of the modern consumer and have beneficial advantages for the body and quality of life in general.
BIO-ORGANIC
YIOTIS Company buys BioOrganic products. This new series consist of organic products made from raw materials that meet all the requirements of Organic Agriculture, as they are certified by the Organization for the Control and Certification of Organic Products.
FARINE LACTEE CRÈME WITH BISCUITS
YIOTIS S.A. also enriched its baby food range by introducing the new Farine Lactée Crème with Biscuits. This new baby food contained wheat flour, milk and biscuits and is especially tasty and nutritious as it contains all the vitamins, proteins and minerals necessary for babies’ proper development.
The Sweet & Balance family was expanded to include Mini Bitter Chocolates.
The pioneering Sweet & Balance range of products was expanded to include 4 new codes. Cheesecake Mix with Strawberry flavour, Cake Mix with Cookies & Cream flavour, Mix Mousse with Chocolate flavoured and Chocolate flavoured Syrup.
ANTHOS ARAVOSITOU DOUBLE
This year, following on the success of Anthos Aravositou, YIOTIS S.A. also introduces Αnthos Aravositou Double, which is available in two double tasty combinations: Vanilla and Chocolate and Strawberry and Chocolate.
Farine Lactée Crème with Apples and Pears was added to the JOTIS range of baby foods. It contains wheat flour, milk and two fruits (apple and pear), and is particularly tasty and nutritious.
YIOTIS S.A .always follows new trends so it can meet its customers’ needs. So, the love for frozen yogurt became a homemade affair.

The Company’s range of confectionery products is widened with two new cake bases: Vanilla and Chocolate flavors. The packages contain 3 ready-cooked bases which are ideal for delicious and successful sweets.
The Sweet & Balance ranged was expanded by the launch of Milk Chocolates with Almonds & Filled Chocolates.

Glucose syrup, another new confectionery product was launched this year.
