Guidelines for using medicines

Medicines given by your doctor are only useful for the precise medical problem for which they were prescribed. Never use medications that you have been prescribed for other reasons or which have been recommended to you by people other than your doctor. If you have questions about medicines that you have been given, or if you need more information, do not hesitate to ask your doctor.

To be safe and effective, the medicines you have been prescribed should be taken in accordance with the exact instructions given by your doctor. If you experience a problem with your medication during the treatment, tell your doctor immediately or contact the on-duty hospital.

Do not use medicines after the expiry date. Keep medicines in a cool, dry place. Otherwise they can be damaged and become unsafe or ineffective. Keep medicines in a safe place, and always out of the reach of children.

Remember that the Poison Center operates 24s hour a day. The phone number is 2107793777 and the centre provides information in poisoning cases.
